"'Jake the Mistake', captured our hearts at the Marin Humane Society two years ago. When we first met him, he was twelve weeks old and only weighed ten pounds. My son and I loved the way his ears lay crisscrossed over his forehead. He watched us intently as we read his case report. As soon as my son spoke to him, his tail wagged and he got all wiggly. He played rough and tumble one minute and slept in our laps the next. We were sold! We had never had a pitbull before but were familiar with the “bully breeds” as we have two boxers at home. Jake fit right into our family and s adored by my husband and two sons. Jake has grown to be 80 pounds. He is strong and playful, loves his collection of stuffed animals and can often be found napping in the sun. He enjoys running with me and loves playing with our other dogs. He eagerly waits for the boys to come home from school and even comforts them when they have a bad day. He smiles and enthusiastically greets everyone he meets. He has been a great addition to our family—we can’t imagine life without him!"
