talulah
@groovycatsndogs "Meet Talulah. She was dumped like trash in Tampa, FL. When found Labor Day Weekend 2012. She was very near death - literally a bag of bones. Emaciated, filthy, dirty and covered in fleas. Barely able to move, she was lucky to have been found by a young woman who at the time lived in Tampa and worked tirelessly to rescue and rehab pit bulls as well as attend local events to educate the public about the breed. Ashlie Burke thought she'd be taking Talulah lovingly over the Rainbow Bridge. Talulah had different plans. They bathed her, fed her and loved her. Dr. Christy told Ashlie to take her home and see what happened. What happened is that Talulah has shown us all what life is about. Each and every day she shows us how grateful she is to be alive. She embraces each moment fully. She's a fighter and lover of life. The first time I saw her picture I felt an immediate connection. I had the unique pleasure of helping her on her journey by massaging her in regular sessions for about 8 weeks. It took weeks more for her to gain the strength to stand on her own...about 3 weeks for her to walk without falling. She had trouble putting one foot in front of the other in her hind end due to severe atrophy. We watched her blossom from a frail, weak cautious dog to a strong, fun-loving and robust dog that brings a smile to all who cross paths with her. We have no idea how she ended up a crumpled mess under some bushes in a North Tampa yard, but we are all forever grateful to have her in our lives. She continues to thrive in her forever home with Ashlie and the rest of her pack in Jasper, Florida. When I feel like giving up, I look at her picture and smile. She is a true inspiration. A million thanks to Ashlie Burke and Dr. Christy Layton of Timberlane Pet Hospital in Plant City, FL for providing Talulah a second chance." @groovycatsndogs
