gemma
Evie here! This painting is for Christina@firstkissmemphis and her sweet girl, Gemma. Here is Christina's story about Gemma: A lot of people ask me about Gemma. What was Gemma doing before she was busy being my downtown tour guide. Well Gemma was rescued less than a year ago by Streetdog Foundation. Her prior life involved abuse and neglet. She was over bred and under cared for. She was picked up when a neighbor reported that her and her puppies were left outside by their owner. He didn't feed her or even let her free for a better life. Unfortunately, her puppies didn't make it. Gemma weighed only 32lbs then (now 53lbs), yet found the strength to bury each of her babies as they passed. Who knows what she endured before this. The good news is that she clearly has a big heart! We are now on a mission to make Gemma the most popular dog in downtown Memphis, get her CGC, and eventually see if Flight (a super fancy wine restaurant) will let her eat on their patio! We want to show people that pit bulls aren't scary. People who mistreat animals are scary! Now you know about Gemma and why I post so much about her adventures. Seeing her overcome her fears is the happiest part of my days!@firstkissmemphis
